He has presided Tomoe Shizune
and Hakutobo since 1987. He also is an artistic director, dancer and composer
for the company. He had been a disciple of Tatsumi Hijikata. He created,
directed, choreographed, composed and stage designed all the works for
the company. He initiated the Hijikata-Tomoe method in continuation to
the Hijikata' s one.
His works were praised
very highly in media in the New York tour performances in 1990 and 1992.
He and his company participated in the Adelaide Festival in February, 1994.
As musician, he started
his activity from 1972 and has composed number of great works and has collaborated
with many artists in a variety of genres.
